West Midland Safari Park completely surpassed our expectations today, we had such a brilliant time! The Park in Worcestershire is home to a four mile long drive-through safari which was the highlight for us. Many of the animals on the safari are free to roam right up to your car and they do! We were feeding giraffes through the window, had rhino’s in touching distance of our car and lions walking next to us.
This isn’t all that’s at West Midland Safari Park though. You’ll also find the largest animatronic dinosaur exhibit in the UK, a theme park and many more animals to see and feed on foot.
Ashley is completely horse mad! So when I saw that Ruislip Park Stables took children from as young as 1 on their pony rides I couldn’t wait to take her. They have some lovey small ponies that they use for toddlers and take them on a guided walk, which you accompany them on, through the woods.
This section of the South Bucks Way is every horse lovers dream as there are horses along almost the entire route. In parts you are walking in the same field as the horses and right past their feeding stations so often end up very close to them.
*THIS HAS NOW CLOSED PERMANENTLY**
The monsters of Widmer End have relocated and found a new home at the Monster Zoo. Local farmer AJ has given the monsters a home at the forest school on his land. You’ll find over 70 monsters in the Monster Zoo, with new additions being added all the time. Plus there’s an added bonus of them being next to a field of pigs with some gorgeous little piglets.
Following on from the list of places to visit in August, I’ve put together even more ideas for days out in and around Bucks. The guide includes places that have reopened their doors this month, brand new activities, plenty of indoor options for rainy days and a few others that I think you’ll love.
