Now that summer has finally arrived and we’re enjoying the sunshine here’s my guide to the best family friendly pubs with play areas. All of the pubs featured in this guide with images next to them I have visited personally and the others have been recommended.
Beale Park
Beale Park is an outdoor wildlife park in Berkshire with loads of fun play areas. We’ve been visiting Beale Park ever since Ashley could walk as it’s brilliant for toddlers! We love it for the miniature railway, animals, paddling pool and the brilliant Little Tikes play area. Recently they’ve been added even more attractions and animals to the park so it’s now even better.
Nets Adventure at Go Ape in Black Park
AD|Press Trip At the weekend we did the Nets Adventure at Black Park and loved it! The Nets Adventure can be enjoyed by even the smallest explorers as this experience has a minimum age of just one and no height restrictions.
Nathan’s Farm
Today we had the cutest visit to Nathan’s Farm in Chalfont St Giles as there were baby animals everywhere! Nathan’s Farm is a small family run farm with reindeer, sheep, chickens, pigs, goats and rhea, to name a few. At the moment there are loads of lambs on the farm which you can help bottle feed! Plus tiny piglets, puppies, chicks and a foal that was only a few days old.
My Positive Birth Story
When I shared with you my anxiety over giving birth so many of you commented and DM’d me with your own positive birth story and I can’t tell you how much they all helped me ?
So here’s mine…
Bluebells in Buckinghamshire
Bluebell season is one of my favourite times of year. There’s something really magical about walking through the woods surrounded by a carpet of purple. We’re lucky in Bucks to be surrounded by some amazing bluebell woods. They are normally in bloom from around late April through to May. As well as some of the more popular places to find bluebells in Buckinghamshire I’ve also included some hidden gems that I’ve discovered which are much quieter.
Bluebells in Common Wood
During the first lockdown last year we visited Common Wood for our walk nearly every day in search of bluebells. We must have walked nearly every path in the wood until we eventually found the most incredible spot for bluebells. The walk we found is covered in a carpet of bluebells and takes you to the bottom of a field of horses. Here’s how to find it.
Gardeners World 2 for 1 Card
In May’s edition of Gardeners World magazine you will find their annual 2 for 1 card. This gains you 2 for 1 access to 360 beautiful gardens across the UK, including some great ones in the South East. The magazine costs just £6.99 and you’ll probably save more than this by using the card just once. Here are some of my favourite places to visit using the 2 for 1 card.
Pony Riding at Ruislip Park Stables
Ashley is completely horse mad! So when I saw that Ruislip Park Stables took children from as young as 1 on their pony rides I couldn’t wait to take her. They have some lovey small ponies that they use for toddlers and take them on a guided walk, which you accompany them on, through the woods.
The Look Out Discovery Centre Playground
This amazing playground is located within Swinley Forest in Bracknell and is part of the Look Out Discovery Centre. Currently you have to reserve a space to play there, which guarantees that it won’t be busy. You also get a reserved picnic bench as part of your booking so have somewhere to sit and enjoy your coffee!
