What’s On Easter 2023

Wow there are a lot of events on this Easter! I’ve put together a list of fun things to do with the kids this Easter. The list covers events on in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Surrey. I’ve included everything from Easter egg trails and chocolate workshops to theater shows.

Easter Wonderland at Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park

3rd – 14th April

Follow Alice down the rabbit hole and venture into their very own Easter Wonderland! Meet the Mad Hatter, enjoy live entertainment, curious creatures, topsy-turvy games and all the usual fun of the farm. We always love the themed events at Hogshaw Farm and the characters they have their always do an amazing job interacting with the children (and adults).

Spring into Easter at Odds Farm

1st – 16th April

Their egg-citing Easter egg hunt will have you searching high and low for a tasty treat, plus join their silly shows with Farmer Oddsocks and friends and our Spring arts & crafts too! Plus all the usual fun at Odds Farm, another favourite day out of ours, especially at this time of year with all the spring babies.

Pip and Posy Explorer Trail at Whipsnade Zoo

31st March – 9th May

Join Pip and Posy discovering the amazing animals at Whipsnade Zoo this Easter. Enter their wonderful world of play and exploration following a family-friendly trail to learn about some of Whipsnade’s impressive animal residents.

Plus on 15-16 and 29-30 April at intervals throughout the day they will have special meet and greet sessions with Pip and Posy, exclusively for ZSL Gold members, Fellows and Patrons.

Go on an Easter Egg Hunt with National Trust

1st – 16th April

Visit your local National Trust estate for Easter adventures in nature trails. Before you set off, you’ll receive a trail sheet and pencil to help you with your adventure and Easter bunny ears to wear along the way.  Complete the trail (£3) and collect your Rainforest Alliance chocolate egg.

Easter Eggstravaganza at Wellington Country Park

1st – 16th April

One of our favourite Easter events! We love Welly Park on a normal day (read our review here), but at Easter they go all out and put on lots of extra activities.

Farmer Carters Courtyard at Millets Farm

1st – 15th April

Spring into the great outdoors to help Farmer Carter play our great quiz trails and activities within the three woodlands, courtyards and castle! Then enjoy the go-karts, pedal tractors, sand pits, family games and much more!

Please note that our main maize maze is yet to be planted and will therefore not be open during this event – watch out for more info on this years Maize Maze later in the year!

Easter Trail at Tumblestone Hollow

1st – 16th April

I absolutely the love the themed festivals at Tumblestone Hollow, they make such an incredible effort on the decorations. The bonus of visiting during one of their festivals is you get to enjoy both the adventure playground and a brilliant themed trail around the beautiful gardens of Stonor Park. The Big Easter Bunny Hunt at Waterperry Gardens

1st – 16th April

Join the trail around the ornamental gardens. £3 per child with a prize – children must be accompanied by an adult for whom the garden entrance fee applies. Gardens open daily from 10am till 5.30pm.

Easter Eggstravaganza at Willows Activity Farm

30th March – 14th April

As well as all the usual Willows fun there will be an Egg Hunt with a chocolate prize, Easter Grotto, adorable animals including bunnies and chicks, brand NEW shows, funfair rides, adventure play and more.

Peter Rabbit and Friends will be here every day too with shows and meet and greets.

Easter at Hobbledown Heath

1st – 16th April

Hobbledown have loads of fun activities lined up including the Great Egg Hunt. Plus themed games, Spring story time, Bunny Hop dance session, Creation Station and Birds of Prey displays.

We love Hobbledown for it’s outdoor and indoor play areas. The indoor play barn here is incredible!

Easter at Hobbledown Epsom

Hobbledown have loads of fun activities lined up including a Hunt for the Golden Dragon Egg. Plus themed games, Hobbler story time, archery and a hunt to find buried wooden eggs.

The Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt at Hampton Court Palace

1st – 16th April

Find the Lindt GOLD BUNNY and discover the stories of fascinating people who visited, lived and worked at Hampton Court Palace. The hunt is designed for children aged 4-12 years old and their families

Alice in Wonderland Easter Egg Hunt & Decorate and Easter Biscuit at Crocus at Dorney

1st – 14th April

Pick up a trail map for the Easter Egg Hunt around the walled garden and decorate an Easter biscuit. We love visiting here, the gardens are lovely to walk round and there’s a great cafe with a playground. Details of the café and playground can be found here. There’s also an Alice in Wonderland Tea – details below under 13th April.

Easter at Roves Farm

1st – 16th April

Easter Egg Hunt, meet & greet with the Easter Bunny, bottle feeding lambs, meet the animals, Easter activity trail, feed the goats, music time and indoor and outdoor adventure play.

The Lexicon Easter Express

31st March – 16th April

The Lexicon Easter Express is a road train that takes you on a ride around The Lexicon Shopping Centre (which is great if you’ve never been). All passengers will receive a free mini-Easter egg or vegan sweets. There will also be a free Easter Egg Hunt with larger than life eggs to find across the town centre where you’ll have a chance to win one of three family meal vouchers for Chopstix. Why not combine this with a trip to the Look Out Discovery Centre or Coral Reef Waterworld.

Easter Workshops at Hobbycraft

There are several different themed workshops to choose from at Hobbycraft including kids bonnet making and pom pom bunnies.

What’s On 1st April

Lambing Festival at Earth Trust

Morning session at 10am and afternoon session at 1pm

We went to this last weekend and had a great time. There’s a big lambing barn full of sheep waiting to give birth, we actually saw a lamb being born when we were there. They have a couple of lambs that you can queue up to stroke too, which are very cute! As well as the lambs there are lots of farm games, like climbing on hay bales, welly wanging, milking a fake cow, tractor rides and a brilliant den building area. I recommend starting with the den building and doing the lambs barn last, as it was very busy in the barn at the start of the session.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre

30th March – 1st April

A critically acclaimed musical based on the beloved film version of Ian Fleming’s children’s book and featuring an unforgettable score by the Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins).

Vintage Fayre at Ashridge House

he first-ever Ashridge Vintage Fayre is coming to town! Between 1-10 April there’ll be fun for everyone, with traditional rides set against the backdrop of our beautiful spring garden! You can expect favourites such as the Helter Skelter, Dodgems, the Big Wheel and more!

Along with our bunny trail around our landscaped gardens and our garden games, so there is something fun for the whole family.

Easter Egg Trail at Dinton Pastures – FREE EVENT

Pick up a map from the Coffee House or Coffee Deck and follow the trails to find the hidden Easter Eggs. There are two trails to choose from, the 1/2 mile trails and the 2 mile trail. You can do both trails if you wish. The park itself at Dinton Pastures is beautiful and there’s a really good playground.

Easter Bunny Breakfast at Dobbies 

8.30am

Enjoy a tasty breakfast for the whole family before the little ones take part in some egg-cellent fun with our Easter bunny. They’ll follow the bunny on a hunt around the store and enjoy some fun games.  Plus, our bunny and the team (both experts in all things carrots) will help them plant their very own miniature carrots to take home and grow in the garden.

This event is suited to families with children aged 3-10 years old. Children under 3 can still take part in some activities with the support of an adult.

Easter Eggstravaganza at Blenheim Palace

Visit Blenheim Palace for a perfect family day out during the Easter weekend. Hop along to the Walled Garden to enjoy a whole host of egg-citing activities including circus skills, balloon modelling, bubble performances, bungee trampolines and a travelling vintage variety show, not to mention appearances from none other than the Easter Bunny throughout the weekend too. The new adventure playground will also be open – note there is an additional charge for this of £7pp.

There will be plenty to keep the kids entertained over the Easter holidays including themed craft activities and trails. Don’t miss exploring the Victorian farmhouse, taking a walk along the old Street of Shops, going back to school in the old Victorian school room and exploring the five acre old farm site and play area.  And, of course, back by popular demand – our Easter egg hunt! Mega Easter Egg Hunt at Wellington Country Park

As well as all the other Easter activities (see above under events running every day), on Sunday 9th they will also be holding a Mega Easter Egg hunt.

Join them from 9:30am and collect your Mega Egg Hunt, hunt form from the Main Reception. Solve the clues and find the missing eggs hidden around the Park. There are 800 Easter Eggs available and offered on a first come first serve basis.

Day Out With Thomas 2023 at Bucks Rail Centre

Join Thomas the Tank Engine for a day of colourful adventure at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre! All aboard a train ride with Thomas, say Hello to Sir Topham Hatt and join Rusty & Dusty for a trainload of fun.

Thames Country Fair

Oxfordshire’s leading Country Show returns to it’s original date over Easter Weekend. Enjoy a wide range of street foods and drink, find a range of local and national food and drink producers in the Food Glorious Food section and enjoy lots of fun entertainment throughout the day. There will also be children’s entertainment making a great family day.

Great Easter Egg Hunt at Cassiobury Farm and Fishery

The farm only run a few open days a year so this is a great opportunity to visit. They have loads of rare breed farm animals as well as a collection of exotic animals including zebra’s, Galapagos tortoise, lemurs, Tararin monkeys, flamingos to name a few.

They are running a Great Easter Egg Hunt with golden eggs hidden amongst the animals. Once the children have completed the trail they’ll visit the Easter Bunny’s chocolate cave for treats! There will also be face painting, mini tractor rides, pedalos, animals encounters, a bouncy castle and lots more.
