Here’s a roundup of some of the best things on this September in Buckinghamshire and nearby.
Our Family Fitness Week With Everyone Active

I’m sure I’m not alone in making excuses that I don’t have time to exercise because I’m busy with the kids!
Since Theo was born (and being honest before too) I’ve not done much in the way of exercise other than walking and a bit of yoga. Certainly nothing that’s raised my heart rate much! So over the last week I’ve set to improve this and do an activity a day with Everyone Active, the UK leading operator of local leisure, gym, swim and activities facilities.
Everyone Active have produced a series of FREE family activity plans as part of their summer campaign, Everyone is Family. We’ve had so much fun doing this and it’s introduced us to both new places and activities.
Fun things to do this August
I haven’t done a monthly what’s on guide in ages but there’s so much fun stuff happening next month in Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas I thought this would be the easiest way to help you plan your month. From sunflower fields to scarecrow trails and pony rides to immersive theatre there’s something for everyone.
Gift ideas for a 3 year old
It was Ashley’s 3rd birthday recently and lots of you have asked me to share what presents we bought her. I’ve put together a gift guide based on what made the final cut, some other ideas that were on our list as well as some of her current favourite toys.
How to use baby carriers safely and choose the right one for you
As you’ll see from our walks we love taking Ashley out in our backpack carrier, as it means we can go off the beaten track. We’ve always been big fans of carriers ever since Ashley was little.
I get sent a lot of questions about baby/toddler carriers so I’ve asked Jodie from Jenni Bean Consultancy CIC (JBC) to provide a guide to safe babywearing and how to choose a suitable carrier. JBC work to support families in the Marlow and High Wycombe area with baby carrying. They work with families on a ‘one to one’ basis, as well as providing online services, workshops and social meets.
Everything You Need for a Muddy Walk!
Is it just me or does everywhere seem extra muddy this year? With everything closed and restrictions in place we have been embracing the mud and getting stuck into our daily walks. The bonus is that Ashley, like most toddlers, absolutely loves the mud, the muddier the better! She’s far more likely to walk on our walks (rather than demand to be carried) if there’s mud to jump in. So I’ve put together a list of everything we use on our walks to stay warm, protected from the mud and to make our lives easier.
